Job Description

Gallagher Re are seeking to recruit a dynamic and proactive individual to join our Team as Global Head of Financial Crime, based in London. Your responsibility will be to craft and embed the financial crime framework, including any applicable policies, procedures, systems and controls. 


Your Role:
• Build, maintain and socialise the financial crime framework, so it helps achieve compliance across these areas: anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML & CTF), anti-bribery and corruption (AB&C) including third party relationships and gifts, entertainment and hospitality (GEH), market abuse and insider dealing, tax evasion and fraud
• Work together with the Global Head of Sanctions to ensure the financial crime framework remains compatible with, and aligned to, the sanctions framework
• Ensure all colleagues are appropriately and adequately educated on financial crime 
• Support senior managers and persons in achieving compliance where they have particular legislative or regulatory financial crime accountability and responsibility (e.g. Money Laundering Reporting Officers) 
• Bolster applicable systems and controls to prevent and detect financial crime, thus reducing potential for the business and wider senior members to either facilitate, or become a victim of, financial crime 
• Lead on investigations where required, ensuring the business aligns with any applicable reporting obligations

• Design a financial crime risk assessment for Gallagher Re, to feed into the wider Gallagher Re risk framework and align to the global Gallagher financial crime risk assessment
• Provide SME advice, support and challenge relating to financial crime risk assessments, ensuring key or significant risks are reported to senior members or applicable high risk committees
• Provide a due diligence framework for use by the business when conducting due diligence on clients and business relationships
• Support senior stakeholders in requesting and acquiring financial crime reporting and MI
• Horizon scanning on legislative and regulatory developments, responding appropriately to any changes by alerting stakeholders and informing of any impact
• Build and maintain effective relationships with the applicable authorities and regulatory bodies where required and engage external counsel when needed
• Provide SME advice, support and challenge to M&A activity, conduct due diligence and support integration planning
• Provide SME advice, support and challenge in respect of internal and external audits
• Represent the company in relevant industry or similar associations or groups as appropriate.
• Attendance and input with committees to explain financial crime systems and controls

Your Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
• Educated to degree level or equivalent desired
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Good knowledge of the general insurance and re-insurance market
• Attention to detail
• Ability to coordinate and prioritise workloads with good time management skills
• Eligible to work in the UK.
