Purpose of Role

We are on a mission to make every consumer experience better with data. At Diageo, no consumer experience is more critical than media. The purpose of this role is to step-change the speed and scale at which we understand our opportunities in media and how consumer data can help deliver improved return on investment.

Within the Global Digital Team, the Global Media Data Lead will be the strategic leader responsible for collaborating on and delivering a world-class media data strategy and operationalizing its usage.

This role will ensure our in-market media experts are enabled with a common strategy, proven principles, data, tools, and operations to drive the best outcomes from our investment, as well as ensure effective management of our relationships with our agencies, data, and technology partners.

Our organization is structured around a market-based model, with central strategy, oversight, and operations. You will ensure local media capabilities are in place to deliver against the most valuable growth opportunities in each market to meet our global media data strategy.

Responsibilities

Leadership of our media data acquisition, organization, activation, and measurement strategy

Establish authentic and trusted relationships and drive integrations across 2nd and 3rd-party data platforms, including commerce and retail media networks, media platforms, and partnerships with publishers, customers, data partners, and technology vendors to drive strategic and commercial benefit to all markets.

Establish global standards for the use of data in media and ensure their delivery within local marketing processes and technology ecosystems.

Manage relationships with X to facilitate tapping into unique 1p, 2p, and 3p audiences to then are layered into Paid Social, Programmatic, and Direct Publisher platforms

Lead the learning agenda from ideation to execution

Managing our global media operations agency alongside a deep partnership with Diageo’s Global Head of Media, Global Head of Media Operations, Global Consumer Data Lead, Global CRM Lead, Digital & Technology (D&T), Legal, and Procurement teams.

Your success will be measured by your contribution to Diageo’s identifiable records ambition and, more importantly, the utilization of those records in media to drive the business.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • This role needs an experienced business leader with expertise in Data and Media. We are looking for someone who will drive thought leadership and turn strategy into action.
  • The output of this role’s work will require organizational change. The leader must inspire, challenge, and collaborate globally and cross-functionally.
  • Become a credible advisor to senior management and our media teams globally for identifying, profiling, and developing addressable audiences for best-in-class targeting.
  • Able to consistently ask questions that demand the best answers, driving continuous learning and optimization
  • Work collaboratively with local markets and a broad range of teams as media owners/vendors, technology vendors, data vendors, and procurement counterparts.
  • A deep, hands-on understanding of media data use cases, ideally with experience within CPG or a similar business model.
  • Understand the data/audience targeting capabilities and use cases for key partners.
  • Experience with data clean rooms solutions
  • A curiosity about creating organization and process where none exists
  • Understanding of the DSP, SSP, DMP, and CDP ecosystem – prefer experience working in-platform
  • Familiarity with CRM and CDP data management is a plus
  • Demonstrable expertise in compliant data collection and usage
  • Confidence simplifies complexity and decisions
  • Fluency with measurement systems and using data to drive effectiveness
