Graduate Computer Systems / Electronics Engineer


Job Location: Monmouth, Wales (commutable from Pontypool, Newport, Abergavenny, Cardiff etc.)

Job Salary: £26k-30k depending on experience

Job Details: Full time job, 37 hours a week

Job Benefits: 23 days holiday + bank holidays, flexitime, full training, paid study time to take paid technical courses, potential for financial assistance with relocation


The Client:

We are currently working with a manufacturer of speciality chemicals who have been established for almost 100 years now. They have played a significant role in the Physics industry and continue to pioneer the way in this industry. The Analytics division currently has 3 staff and is planning to increase in size in the next 6 months.


They are a small friendly technical team in Wales, but part of a much larger organisation throughout the UK. They are able to offer excellent support and training, including full training in the LabVIEW programming language as well as paying for courses at Open University to allow professional development for the graduate.


The Role:

The company are currently looking for a Computer Systems / Electronics Engineering graduate to join their team will be given a series of projects involving computer hardware, software design and implementation as well as the mathematical / software side of electronic engineering. You will apply your engineering skills and imagination to help us design and demonstrate game-changing positioning technology.


The project will require object orientated programming, software engineering, graphics programming, FPGA programming. An interest and understanding of current processors, computer architectures and cyber security etc. As well as a deep understanding of spectra, transients and noise, probability theory, signal processing, and scientific data collection.


Collaboration will be with other team members with expertise on Physics, Laser-beams, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, also external customers and experts in Production Engineering.


Job Requirements:


  • A degree in any of the following: Computer Systems and/or Electronics Engineering
  • Maths and Physics A-Levels at a B or above
  • Technical understanding of Object-oriented programming including computer architectures, software engineering principles
  • Excellent communication and time management skills with a proactive mindset to learn more on the job
  • Creative, determined and enjoys working as a team
