Job Description


We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Graduate IT Consultant who are keen to build a career in our software engineering team in Milton Keynes. This is a hybrid role, where you will need to live within a commutable distance of the office.

You will be working to create and enhance great products that are critical to our customers.

We are passionate about developing software applications that make a real difference in the energy market. We build platforms that provide pricing, billing, and supply management for large B2B Electricity suppliers, with business process automation, data analytics and flexible integration architecture. Our energy and carbon management platform delivers great energy management tools with a mission to support customers to reduce energy consumption, analyse bills for cost recovery and reduce emissions to support green initiatives and achieve net-zero ambitions.

We operate in a sector that is undergoing rapid change, with organisations aiming to reduce their carbon emissions and electricity suppliers seeking more innovative solutions for their customers. EDW Technology, as a UK leader in technology for the energy market, is ideally placed to help our customers adapt in this rapidly changing sector, as we move to a more sustainable future.

Role: Full Time

Salary: £26k + bonus

Graduate IT Consultant Responsibilities:
Hybrid - remote and office-based working, within a team of skilled engineers across various disciplines (Analysis, Development, Testing and Operations)
Working in an agile scrum environment which adheres to scrum values, delivering significant change to our products
Directly involved in design, development, test and delivery of great new features and improvements that the team is expected to champion, support, and evolve
High degree of collaboration across the team, eager to improve on everything that we do

Frameworks/Platforms: Spring (Boot, Cloud, Web), Hibernate, Hazelcast, Camel, Tomcat, Docker, Kubernetes, Karaf, Active MQ
Architectures: Microservices, Serverless, Event-driven, Workflow, Web Services
Web: Vaadin, Javascript
Dev Lifecyle: Maven, GIT, BitBucket, Jira Cloud, Zephyr, ReadyAPI, jMeter
Data: MySQL, Vertica (Column Store), Document Store, Oracle, Elasticsearch/Lucene, Timeseries
Command line: Linux shell/Bash
Graduate IT Consultant Requirements:
You are interested in business critical, scalable applications using modern technologies, on a mixture of cloud and on-premise platforms
You collaborate well within a team and are motivated to learn new technologies and understand existing software platforms, so that you can help shape them in the future
You have a desire to learn and understand how energy retail and energy management industries work, to help us build game changing solutions
You have a good degree in a STEM subject
You have some knowledge or interest in our technology stack (see above)
