We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our in-house design team at our Head Office in Southampton. The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary design team, working across all of our business sectors including; Process & Water, Energy, Oil & Gas and Nuclear.
As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will report to the Mechanical Design Manager and will work very closely with a Mechanical Design Mentor where you learn how to produce detailed mechanical designs. Full support will be given to help you on your journey towards becoming chartered and you will be enrolled in to our Professional Forum, where you will meet with other Engineers also on the route to chartership.
This an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Graduate, with a keen interest in design to join a professional team of designers, working on interesting projects within construction and engineering.
Role & Responsibilities
Graduate Scheme
The Trant Graduate Scheme is offered to all Graduates joining the business. This a period of hands-on training and development over 24 months, where you are assigned a mentor to carry out training associated with your discipline, to enable you move from a Graduate Engineer, to a Junior Engineer to a full Engineer.
After completing the induction, you will join your engineering design team (being guided by your mentor) and will become competent in carrying out engineering tasks. At 12 months, you will have commenced working on your professional review Initial Professional Development (IPD) and will be actively engaged in the Professional Forum. At this time you should be ready to work independently as a Junior Engineer and by 24 months you should be classified as an Engineer and possibly even mentoring your own first year Graduate.
