We are looking for a trainee patent attorney to join our York or Newcastle office in the electronics and telecoms team.
As a trainee patent attorney at Secerna you can expect to work closely with the Partners and Senior Attorneys at the firm on a broad range of matters including original patent drafting and prosecution. In addition, you will gain invaluable experience assisting on the contentious and advisory work the firm has a reputation for.
Candidates must possess a strong academic background (first or upper second-class honours) in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science, with a keen interest in relevant technologies like semiconductor devices, circuitry, mobile telecoms, and emerging areas like software/AI and quantum computing.
Excellent written and oral communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also essential.
The position is ideally suited to a recent graduate or post-graduate and for a start in Autumn/Winter 2024.
