Sewell Wallis are currently working on behalf of our client, a fast-growing construction group, as they look to appoint a Group Accountant in a newly created role. This is a great time to join a highly successful business and team during a high growth period.

This role would suit a first mover from practice, ideally someone moving out of a top 10 firm or someone who has already made the move with relevant industry experience. The successful candidate will join this business with a great working culture and company perks.

What will you be doing?

1. Produce consolidated monthly management information.
2. Produce the financial information for the Group Board pack.
3. Provide monthly information to the shareholders.
4. Consolidate, review and challenge the group long-term cash forecast.
5. Liaise with key stakeholders across the business and senior finance personnel to understand the cash forecast and movements.
6. Assist with day-to-day cash management and produce the group short-term cash forecast.
7. Manage the statutory accounts and corporation tax returns process across the group (circa 50 companies) with assistance from the Financial Controller & Finance Manager.
8. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
9. Liaise with the company's auditors, tax advisors and bankers.
10. Oversee the execution of tax strategy and tax compliance activities.

What skills do we need?

1. ACA or ACCA qualified with experience working in a Top 10 firm.
2. Construction industry experience is an advantage.
3. Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax.
4. Sense of personal ownership, commitment and accountability.
5. Team-oriented; excellent interpersonal skills and able to develop collaborative relationships at all levels in the organisation.
6. Positive outlook with a simple, open communication style.
