Your new role
Evolve and oversee the Marketing Strategy for the companies within the Portman Travel Group, ensuring an effective digital and cross-channel marketing plan complemented by a wide range of campaigns and activities.


Provide direction and leadership to the respective marketing teams to implement marketing initiatives that drive company sales and profitability.


Develop long-term plans for development of the brands Understand and develop budget requirements which inform successful marketing strategies.

Accountabilities



  • Lead development of marketing strategy by working closely with respective Heads of Marketing (HoM) & teams to understand each business
  • Through MDs and HOM, overseeing all areas of the marketing department. This may include digital marketing, direct marketing, print marketing, media marketing, social media marketing, market research and coordinating with external agencies.
  • Ensure full execution of marketing strategy and plans
  • Identifying new revenue opportunities and providing actionable plans, ensuring the continuous improvement of the company’s marketing efforts
  • Identify scheduling and resource needs – including development and management of marketing budgets
  • Understand key performance metrics and tracking tools for market research, forecasts, competitor analysis, results, trends and report at Exec Level.
  • Formulating unique insights to understand the customer from a marketing perspective.
  • Using marketing insights to contribute towards the overall business strategy.
  • Providing support and development opportunities to the marketing team. Increasing their knowledge and sharing best practices.
  • Giving advice and direction where needed on work priorities, budgets, and resources.
  • Providing strong leadership to the team by demonstrating the company’s values and leadership behaviour
  • Promoting a culture of high-performance with a focus on successful outcomes.
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring the organisation complies with current marketing and copyright regulations as well as accepted professional standards, policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Influence company MDs and HoMs to deliver the companies’ Marketing Strategy.
  • Regular Team Meetings and One to Ones planned
  • Able to get work done and make a difference i.e. delivering business-oriented solutions and approaches through influence, coordination and individual effort
  • Effectively communicate information required by all levels of the business with the objective of assisting the organisation in achieving its strategies
  • Strong influencer able to engage fully at all levels and create a culture in line with Company values



CAPABILITIES PROFILE – leadership, management, personal skills, knowledge, experience



  • Successful track record in director level marketing role in the travel industry.
  • Senior marketing agency experience also useful.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Experience in digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
  • Understanding of marketing tools – CRM, Content Management Systems,
  • Proven ability to plan and manage budgets
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, advertising, or communications
  • High level of personal organization, time management, multi-tasking and work load prioritization
  • Ability to work under pressure & react quickly to change
  • Self motivated
