We're looking for someone to manage our sustainability responsibilities, supporting the business in becoming a leader in sustainability in our industry. Someone who can directly influence our teams, our suppliers and our clients in working towards a sustainable future.
Overview of Role:

  • Setting the sustainability strategy and objectives, in conjunction with the Head of Quality & Compliance, to drive new initiatives across the group.
  • Full accountability for delivery of agreed objectives
  • Taking the lead on product sustainability and responsible sourcing, working together with the procurement teams.
  • Articulating the businesses sustainability strategy to clients and potential clients
  • Monitoring and reporting on our environmental and regulatory trends and ensure organisational awareness of government legislation and regulatory issues (such as Producer Responsibility, Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme, Streamline Energy and Carbon Reporting).
  • Tracking and communicating our progress is key and you will take the lead on monitoring and reporting our environmental performance for our internal and external stakeholders. Having the ability to translate technical data into a meaningful format for the wider team.
  • Always thinking ahead, you'll have a clear vision of what you want to achieve next and provide the direction needed to ensure we keep evolving and developing our sustainability strategy and objectives.
  • There will be ad hoc travel required to other sites in this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting a full review of all aspects of the business that impact upon the environment then developing and implementing plans to monitor measure and improve performance (e.g. logistics, suppliers, local utilities, waste).
  • Implement a consistent carbon footprint monitoring program across each BA site, with measurables, targets which can be reported on monthly and tracked for improvement.
  • Developing, implementing and reporting on KPI's to provide measurable improvement against our sustainability objectives.
  • Develop and publish an annual sustainability report, detailing our performance against agreed objectives and provide a roadmap for improvement. The report should be aligned with a recognised standard such as the global reporting initiative (GRI) to provide a full and balanced picture of the organisation's performance
  • Implementing sustainability measures to monitor our suppliers, drive initiatives such as reduction or elimination of single use plastic from within our supply chains and warehouses.
  • Taking responsibility for our annual EcoVadis submission and ensuring that year on year improvements are made to ensure that we are best in class.
  • Developing and setting internal sustainability measures for products that we source so that both suppliers and products can be awarded sustainability ratings.
  • Develop and implement regular sustainability workshops, training sessions across the business and provide regular updates on progress.
  • Develop and implement a meaningful sustainability score for products sold by Brand Addition.

  • Confident and driven, you'll be able to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of global stakeholders across the business.
Reporting to: Group Quality & Compliance Manager

  • Proven track record of launching and successfully implementing complex projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully working across departments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to be able to articulate and present results to demonstrate improvement.#
  • Attention to detail / detail oriented
  • Excellent report writing skills and experience in creating annual reports.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role (would be beneficial)
