Client Overview:
Loom Talent have been retained by a forward-thinking Haulage / Multi-User 3PL provider, renowned for its commitment to delivering top-notch logistics solutions in the fast-moving world of Haulage / 3PL & FMCG. As a key player in the industry, they pride themselves on a commitment to delivering excellence service, now seeking a Group Transport Manager to own the end to end group Transport function.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Group Transport Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing end to end operations, leading multi-site transport operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a Transport tam of c.10 including of Planners & Admin's.
- Oversee a modern fleet of up to 50 vehicles and drivers.
- A budget of c. £1.5m per year.
- Lead all operational H&S, Compliance and Fleet Maintenance agendas across the Transport operation.
- Ensuring seamless coordination and optimisation of logistics operations from an internal synergy and continuous improvement perspective.
- Implementing best practices whilst ensuring sufficient usage of the TMS platform.
- To help support and develop individuals, provide developmental opportunities within the business.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate for the Group Transport Manager position will possess:
- A Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain Background - Essential.
- A CPC National / International qualification, demonstrating your deep understanding of transportation regulations – Essential.
- 3+ Years Transport management experience within a Haulage / Pallet or Parcel Network – Essential.
- Sub-contracting experience is highly advantageous but not essential.
- Proven experience in managing 60+ vehicles across Class 1 & Class 2 fleets – Essential.
- A true passion for people development, providing excellent service and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence.
- Previous budget expereince of up to c.£1m+ - Advantageous.
- FORS, Lean Six Sigma, Prince2 knowledge / accreditations / qualifications – Advantageous.
- Commutable to the North Leeds area 5 days per week - Essential.
Salary & Package:
- Salary - £40,000 to £50,000
- Company Bonus Scheme
- 25 Days + 8 Bank Holidays
