Mitie Telecoms are leading providers of acquisition, design, and construction (ADC) services, specialist managed services of temporary mobile infrastructure, and facilities maintenance for telecoms.

Mitie Telecoms are looking for a Head of Acquisition & Planning to join the team. We are looking for someone who can pro-actively manage and create an internal team from inception to completion. With the capability drive the team to achieve and deliver the Acquisition milestone targets as measured against client SLA's/KPI's and internal forecasting.

What will the role look like?

The Head of Acquisition will be responsible for managing suppliers and creating a designated internal team to deliver all Acquisition milestones. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that the team are identifying sites that have the necessary legal, planning and access rights to install new or upgraded radio equipment and, if required, to accommodate 3rd party equipment requirements. All whilst negotiating consensual deals under the legislative backdrop of the New Telecommunication Code.

The right candidate will also:-

• Manage supplier delivery via regular review meetings and reporting. Providing clear instruction to the project specific delivery teams as to what is required to be delivered.
• Create a team structure. This will include Interviewing, recruit new team members, preparing job descriptions and responsibilities.
• Develop an internal team culture. This will be made possible via team training and team building.
• Ensure documentation is produced to clear standards and accurate records are always kept. Responsibility to review existing processes and updated matters where required
• Be responsible for forecasting and managing delivery profiles, highlighting potential risks to delivery, mitigating as necessary whilst working with the Acquisition Director and all involved stakeholders.
• Manage the change control process and scope creep.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and WIP
• Input into tenders, RFPs and job pricing.
• Business development.

What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate would have strong experience in Telecommunication site acquisition. The experience of working within site acquisition teams for both individual site providers and Multi-site Providers, and demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of Property/Planning law in relation to telecommunications development.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills are key, along with the ability to be an inspiring individual and team player. Being pro-active, efficient and target driven along with good problem-solving skills are also key strengths we are looking for.

It is also desirable that you will be a Professional Member of the RICS

Where is the role located ?

UK Wide Role with access to many of the Mitie offices located in London, Tewkesbury, Birmingham, Glasgow to name a few. Therefore, you will require a driving license with no more than 6 points.
