Head of Brand Marketing (FTC for Maternity Cover – 9 months)



Hybrid working role



£75,000 basic salary, Car allowance, pension, critical illness, life assurance, family health care, 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays



This role is a Fixed Term Contract for Maternity Cover, as the Head of Brand Marketing. You will be joining the senior Marketing leadership team that reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer/Chief Customer Officer and will be required to lead a team across all Brand Marketing disciplines.



So, what’s it all about, the role:



This role works on B2C brand marketing and partnerships across all our motor divisions and B2B marketing for our Pendragon Vehicle Management and Evans Halshaw Leasing division.



You will be planning, implementing and overseeing the execution of marketing initiatives to deliver agreed upon business and brand objectives; influencing channel mix, creative messaging and audience selection.
Managing and leading a diverse internal team, as well as, our external brand, planning and media agencies to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of our core brand communication plans, messaging, creative, media and PR strategies throughout the Pendragon group. Nurturing strong collaborative relationships across all agencies will be crucial
You will provide the strategic lead and oversight on retail brand marketing, vehicle and customer acquisition campaigns across the motor division, to maximise high quality lead generation focusing on finance, aftersales and ‘Sell Your Car’ opportunities.
You directly manage the in-house creative design team and work to ensure a seamless relationship between the external agencies and internal design capability. You will act as the Brand Guardian for the Group’s retail brands, ensuring internal and external creative assets align to brand guidelines and meet the strategic and operational needs of the business.
The franchise structure of dealerships demands the overseeing of various brand partner relationships, in order to develop mutual business benefits across the group. You will be responsible for overseeing the selection, activation and success of the local and national sponsorship and partnership portfolio across the Pendragon businesses.
Overseeing the development and execution of marketing strategies for Pendragon Vehicle Management and as part of the PVM division, Evans Halshaw Leasing, will also be required
You will partner closely with other Leaders throughout various business functions to plan and ensure brand and used retail marketing priorities and campaigns are effectively communicated and campaign performance measurement is in place and key learnings are shared with stakeholders.
Adeptly planning, managing and controlling budgets will be essential, ensuring they are optimised to deliver the best returns in line with strategic and operational marketing objectives



What are we looking for, the person:



You’ll be able to demonstrate success and experience in brand marketing; working closely with agencies, preferably in a large commercial/retail business. You will have a good understanding brand building and messaging in a B2C hybrid retail environment. Experience of lead generation marketing would be highly beneficial.
Commercially astute and data driven you are able to balance strategic and operational thinking, planning and doing. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and be hands-on to ensure operational delivery as required.
You will be an experienced people leader who can drive the performance of your own team developing their skills, capabilities and experience whilst ensuring the effective delivery of agreed objectives
You will work cross-functionally internally and with external stakeholders, forging and sustaining collaborative relationships to ensure the effective delivery of key projects and initiatives
You will be a self-starter who is a well-practiced master of multi-tasking! Highly adaptable and resilient you’ll be working in an agile, fast-paced environment, prioritising multiple projects and liaising across multiple teams with ease and confidence.
You’ll be a highly influential and effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts and proposals
You will have brand marketing, monitoring and tracking skills; able to confidently utilise 3rd party tools and sharing insights with relevant stakeholders to inform brand decision making
You will work confidently at a senior level with multiple stakeholders, providing regular reporting and analytics at C-Suite level to update on brand marketing, 3rd party and lead performance
You’ll be able to forge and sustain great collaborative relationships across the wider business to ensure the delivery of key projects and initiatives
