Job Description

Finegreen are recruiting a Head of Estates Engineering to work for an NHS organisation based in the East of England. This is an interim position for 3 months initially with a competitive rate.

The post holder will be primarily responsible for the leadership and management of the Estates Engineering functions including, but not limited to, the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance and associated engineering services in relation to the buildings and grounds and all the engineering infrastructure, across the whole of the large and complex estate.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the management of the Estates Engineering teams;
  • In collaboration with other E&F Departments, the Head of Estates Engineering will ensure that agreed objectives in support of the Estate Business and Operational Plan are delivered within the agreed timeframes;
  • Support the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities - Engineering, in-conjunction with other Estates senior managers, in the preparation and implementation of the Estate's Strategic and Operational Plan/s;
  • Assessing and completing Strategic and Operational Risk Management in the development of maintenance of the Estates assets including input to Capital and Major Proposals, relative to the Organisations Strategic Plan and the Estates Control Plan;
  • Liaise, and work with, all necessary external bodies including the Local Planning Authority, Building Control, Fire Authority and others, to ensure compliance with all Statutory Requirements, and technical standards, in the execution of revenue and capital schemes and developments;
  • 6Implement and maintain a Planned Maintenance provision for engineering services assets in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and NHS guidance giving priority to statutory and mandatory assets;
  • Develop and implement a quality and customer care strategy for Operational Services.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Must have senior experience working within the NHS/ a healthcare setting;
  • Must hold Engineering discipline background qualified
  • Significant appropriate experience working within an engineering environment at a senior level across a broad range of areas;
  • Advanced technical, theoretical and practical knowledge of complex engineering systems;
  • Strong leaderships abilities and communication skills.
