We are looking to recruit a new Head of our IT department in accordance with the job description below.


Main purpose

Information and Communication Technology is critical to the day-to-day operation of the business, both at an administrative and field operation level.


The purpose of the Head of ICT is:

  • Manage and maintain the company’s IT System comprising two hosts with multiple virtual MS Windows servers in a Hyper-V environment.
  • To Manage a staff of two ICT Support staff including the service desk supervisor and a junior/apprentice technician
  • To Manage a number of ICT related development projects as required
  • To Manage a significant ICT budget, selecting service providers and negotiating best trading terms
  • To Communicate effectively at all levels to promote the aims and objectives of the ICT Department, providing regular updates and management reports.

Key result areas

  • To ensure maximum System “Up-Time”
  • To ensure IT support is delivered in a professional and timely manner.
  • To ensure compliance with information security legislation and recognized best practice, with a view to achieving ISO 27001 certification.
  • To protect the integrity of the company’s information, specifically from cyber-attack.
  • To manage and maintain the company’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan
  • To provide detailed management information to an agreed timetable

Detailed responsibilities & duties

  • Due to the need to maintain system security – detailed responsibilities, identifying the company’s operating systems and application software, are not published and will be sent to applicants who are invited to attend an interview.

Remuneration

  • Circa £55,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
