About the Role

As a result of our recent growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Legal to join us and take full ownership of all legal issues.

The role will involve working closely with our company directors, senior management team and our legal assistant to head up our legal department. 

This encompasses primarily commercial contracts, corporate structure, employment law, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, data protection, as well as managing external lawyers, so the role is incredibly varied.

This is an opportunity to be involved with a broad range of work, including the following:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and terms of business
  • Liaising with a variety of clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Guarding the organisation against legal risks
  • Escalating debt recovery and disputes
  • Assisting with legal decision-making and identifying legal solutions
  • Advising and assisting with escalated legal matters
  • Salary of £60,000 - £80,000 p/a dependent on your experience

Job requirements

What we’re Looking For

It is essential that you have at least 3-5 years PQE; 5+ years PQE is desired. This position would suit a candidate with excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines. Experience working in-house is preferred though we would also consider someone with experience in private practice who has an impressive background in:

  • Commercial Law
  • Debt recovery
  • Employment Law

Essential skills include:

  • Ability to confidently advise on commercial contract and dispute matters
  • Some leadership qualities and an ability to effectively share knowledge and experience
  • The ability to coordinate, prioritise and plan effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to build rapport and establish trust at all levels
