We’re looking for a Head of Marketing - Team Germany

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Marketing to lead our German marketing team. Reporting directly to the General Manager iwoca Germany, you will be fully responsible for leading and growing our Marketing team and driving the strategic direction of our marketing efforts in Germany. The ideal candidate will have a 7-10 years of Marketing and Management experience, a strong background in B2B marketing, experience leading a team in a growth or scale-up environment, a proven track record in paid search and SEO (either leading teams or own execution), and ideally possess some experience in Direct Mail campaigns, social media marketing and paid social.

Your mission

Strategy:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the customer segments we serve

  • Establish our marketing strategy and translate it into ambitious OKRs for your team and our external agency.

  • Invest a multi-million marketing budget; demonstrate incrementality and positive ROI on spend.

  • Drive improvements to our qualified lead framework and attribution model

  • Provide regular insights to our product teams to inform our feature roadmap

  • Provide regular reports on marketing spend, commercial performance, and other initiatives to the wider company.

Team Management:

  • Lead and grow a team of highly motivated marketing professionals.

  • Define clear roles and responsibilities, set expectations, and offer professional training and career development opportunities to enhance team performance and growth.

  • Support and coach your team of subject matter specialists:

    • paid search: continuous refinement of campaign and bidding strategies as well as close cooperation with our paid search agency.

    • SEO: content ideation and production, continuous improvement of our linking strategy, and overseeing website changes for enhanced performance.

    • newsletter and mail strategies: identify the right target audiences, overseeing the creative process (content, design, assets), setting objectives and optimising performance.

    • social media:, enhancing our online presence and contributing to the drafting and publishing of engaging social media posts.

    • paid social: building out our presence across platforms in close cooperation with our media agency.

    • alignment: crafting of copies, reviewing and aligning branding across our marketing channels and driving the creation of compelling customer success stories and educational videos.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading a marketing team in a growth/scale-up environment.

  • A passion for growth - for our customers, teams, iwoca and also yourself

  • Professional experience in paid search and SEO.

  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset with a passion for data - experience with data driven testing and improvement processes

  • Results-driven can-do attitude with a strong belief in personal ownership and accountability.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment.

  • Native German speaker or high bilingual proficiency (C2).

  • Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to adapt to our brand’s tone of voice

  • Background in B2B marketing, particularly with a focus on SMEs.

  • Fintech/lending industry background.

  • Professional experience in paid social and mail.
