Cpl is actively recruiting for a Head of People to join an award-winning private care home company with HQ based in Holywood, County Down.

Your new role

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for human resources management of the group.

As Head of People you will be required to lead and manage a comprehensive human resources service through a range of projects and activities in areas such as, but not limited to:

oWorkforce planning and recruitment

oOn-boarding/exit and employment services

oPerformance management

oLearning and development

oBusiness partnering

oCompensation and benefits

oEmployment law compliance

oEmployee relations

  • Develop and implement the operational plan to deliver the Group’s identified goals
  • Identify, develop and implement innovative practices in order to improve employee recruitment, engagement, organisational performance and support business strategic goals
  • Develop and implement a plan to build and embed our culture and values across the organisation
  • Work with senior management to plan talent development and growth for the future
  • Analyse and use HR metrics and data to inform the Senior Management Team’s decisions
  • Oversee the issue and renewal of immigration visa, providing assurance relevant legislation is compiled with and provide training and advice when required
  • Provide support, coaching, training and advice to managers and staff on all human resource issues
  • Develop and implement creative and meaningful learning and development initiatives for all staff
  • Develop and implement an integral staff well-being programme
  • Undertake other duties and/or projects as may reasonably be requested

Essential Experience and Attributes

  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working within a generalist HR function at mid-senior level within a medium to large employer
  • Sound knowledge of current employment legislation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make systematic and rational recommendations based on relevant information
  • Ability to work autonomously, take responsibility for own actions and make decisions with minimal direction
  • Ability to confidently articulate human resources issues to internal staff and external stakeholders both in writing and verbally
  • Highly effective networking, interpersonal and collaboration skills and the ability to establish working relationships
  • Leadership skills to guide and steer discussion in order to achieve objectives and promote best practice
  • Empathy and listening skills to understand other’s opinions and tolerate differing needs and viewpoints
