Head of Planning – Renewable Energy & Grid Balancing IPP

You will benefit from working alongside one of the godfathers of planning in the UK, as well as a team of seasoned developers within an agile, successful IPP. With just over 1GW of operational assets or under construction, a further 2.5GW in the late stages of development, and a total pipeline of almost 12GW, it’s a guarantee that you’ll be involved with some of the most exciting projects in the UK right now.
Our client are market leaders in flexible generation and grid flexibility, with a portfolio comprising Battery Energy Storage, Pumped Storage Hydro, and Green Hydrogen assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the full processes of consultation, planning and DCO applications
- Coordinating EIAs and liaising with the relevant technical consultancies
- Liaising with the development team throughout the development process – gaining exposure to land, grid, commercial and legal
- Producing a planning strategy for each project
- Attending site visits when necessary
- Undertaking desk studies, site visits and planning assessments for prospective sites
- Staying up to date with Planning Policies and advising the wider development team as necessary
- Managing public consultations and Community Engagement to ensure the company continues to be held in the highest regard
