Synchro are proud to be partnering with a well-known organisation who are actively seeking to hire a Head of Pre-Contracts.

About The Role
This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week working from your local office or other offices around the UK as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Contracting Strategy: Work with the Director of Supply Chain to set and implement the contractor and contracting strategy, optimizing spend in the Network Build division to deliver optimal value for money with the right partners.
- Contractor Engagement: Develop and lead the engagement of build contractors to facilitate the ongoing delivery of full fibre networking in targeted build areas.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, develop, and manage a Pre-Contract team.
- Tender Processes: Run appropriate tender processes that lead to contract awards, ensuring best value for money and sustainable contracts.
- Timeline Adherence: Ensure contract award timelines for BDUK and other key build activities are met or exceeded.
- Supply Chain Management: Maintain a healthy supply chain for all build-related works, engaging with the market to assess and onboard prospective suppliers.
- Risk Monitoring: Monitor supply risks and ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
- Data Interpretation: Capture and interpret data to drive clear actions for improvement, focusing on rate improvements and efficiency.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Industry Expertise: Recognized expert in the creation and negotiation of construction and telecoms-specific contracts with strong supplier and client engagement experience.
- Team Leadership: Proven track record of leading a successful team in a fast-paced and agile environment.
- Commercial Approach: Ability to develop new commercial approaches.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong experience in stakeholder management, encouraging partnering, shared risk, and collaboration to support high-performing projects.
- On-boarding and Tender Processes: Experience in setting up and running efficient on-boarding and tender award processes.
- Construction Project Delivery: Experience in delivering large construction projects.
