Location: Cheshire (Hybrid Role)


Salary: Excellent Fixed Salary (Dependent on Experience) + Performance Related Bonus Scheme


Holiday Entitlement: 25 days per annum + Bank Holidays

Our trusted and respected client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Procurement / Procurement Lead to join our team in Cheshire.


This pivotal role will be instrumental in managing our supply chain and negotiating strategic partnerships with manufacturers. The successful candidate will have a strong commercial acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential manufacturers and suppliers for our product portfolio.
  • Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and agreements.
  • Ensure all contracts and agreements comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery schedules, resolving any disputes or issues.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of buyers, setting performance goals and providing ongoing coaching.
  • Implement strategies to optimize procurement costs while maintaining product quality.
  • Continuously evaluate market trends and supplier offerings to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient inventory management and on-time deliveries.
  • Implement best practices in supply chain management and identify potential risks, developing contingency plans.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the purchasing department, regularly reporting on departmental performance to company leadership.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement, preferably within the EU market.
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial understanding.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of parallel import would be advantageous.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).



Please note: This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office
