Job Description

Charnwood Borough sits in between the three cities of Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. One third of the 183,000 population live in the thriving university town of Loughborough, with most of the remaining two thirds within the small towns and villages of the Wolds, the Soar and Wreake Valleys, Charnwood Forest and on the edge of Leicester.

We are looking for a senior leader to help us maximise the opportunities ahead, while also making sure the Council is prepared for the challenges facing local government The Council is seeking a Head of Regulatory Services and Community Safety, a senior role within the organisation which is part of our Corporate Leadership Team. The Regulatory Services teams help local businesses comply with the relevant legislation in the environmental, food, licensing and health and safety fields. We take a proactive and supportive approach to working with businesses in Charnwood to help them succeed and prosper, aligning with our corporate priority to create a thriving local economy. Community Safety is the other element to this key position. Keeping our communities safe is the responsibility of several agencies, and this role is pivotal in developing, nurturing, and shaping the positive, proactive relationships we have with key partners in Charnwood.
