Job Overview: Working exclusively with our client, an established plastic packaging manufacturer, to find an experienced Head of Sales to drive sales & business development to achieve continued business growth.
Remit:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales or Business Development Manager to join an established family-owned business, that through 4 generations have grown and secured very good customer business relations, invested in modern Mould machines and automation, who own their own land and factory, and continue to develop and empower their people.
This position will suit a technically biased sales / commercial professional with prior experience of selling products within disciplines in injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion blow moulding, extrusion stretch moulding or plastics packaging applications.
The successful Head of Sales will be joining the company at an exciting period as they introduce a new website, corporate video and new product catalogue alongside continued investment in manufacturing machinery and the Production / Logistics operations.

Role:
As Head of Sales you will report directly to the MD, the owner of the business, and highly experienced with the Business commercials & specifications.
In the role of Head of Sales, you will lead a small team of sales staff and a marketing executive.
You will be responsible for identifying, developing and generating new business enquiries & sales leads to aid in driving company growth.
You will have excellent negotiation skills with proven experience of B2B sales, and natural abilities for identifying business opportunities, building key customer relationships.
As Head of Sales you will be responsible for devising business development strategies with the Board for identifying target markets, market trends and industrial areas to target for best ROI.
Maintaining and developing relationships with new and existing customers.
Identifying new markets, clients, partnerships, contacts to drive business growth.
Attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events to build relationships with industry partners and stay abreast of market trends.
Understanding customers’ requirements and developing proposals to meet those requirements.
Planning & Delivering technical presentations / pitches to demonstrate how a product will meet client needs.
Responsible for KPI deliverables of Sales department & Business’ aspirations for growth.
Experience Requirements:
MUST HAVE Technical Sales, Commercial Manager or Business Development Manager experience
Experience of B2B sales within injection moulding or blow moulding or extrusion blow moulding or extrusion stretch moulding
Experience within plastics packaging ( advantage but not essential )
A professional manner is essential, both face to face and via telephone / email
Strong & effective negotiation skills
Self-motivated, reliable and must be able to work to own initiative
Good experience in sales planning, sales forecasting, sales prospecting, diary management and CRM / Database management
Good people management skills
Good experience with product marketing and identifying best channels for optimizing audience visibility of business’ capabilities and product portfolio.
