Our client operate within a niche but fast growing area of non food FMCG. The business is part of a larger group based in USA with a combined turnover of £250m. With an established customer base in the UK they are focusing on growing the brand across Europe.

They are now looking to add a Head of Sales to their team.

Job Description

As Head of Sales, you will report into the Managing Director and have 6 direct reports based in the UK and across Europe. You will head up a specific product category and be responsible for the growth of the overall channel.

You will be based from the South Yorkshire office with European travel on avergage once a quater.

Some of your day to day responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute sales strategy in order to deliver continued sales growth across all markets.
  • Deliver to agreed financial targets, growing regional annual revenues whilst ensuring profitability and margin targets.
  • Inspire, lead and motivate the UK and European sales teams, ensuring best practice initiatives are utilised and customer focussed actions continue to deliver a best in class service.
  • Create and lead the sales roadmap, focussing on key business value drivers, interdepartmental projects directly linked to driving sales and continued customer value.
  • Expand and deliver continuous sales training programmes across all regions, with focus on product knowledge and customer advice in order to support improved retention rate and long term lifetime value.
  • Breed a culture of best in class customer experience, by aligning internal cultures and approaches to seamless customer interaction.
  • Provide accurate annual and monthly sales forecasts in order to ensure the business can plan and adapt short and long term growth plans.
  • Utilise commercial acumen to create trading plans, ecommerce activities, negotiated volume driven discounts, commercial terms and wholesale agreements.
  • Interpret weekly data linked to customer metrics, trading patterns, sales revenue; present and implement ongoing solutions to continually meet and exceed sales revenue targets.
  • Present clear and accurate data driven feedback to senior team, with focus on go forward strategies and key long term business value drivers.
  • Closely monitor key performance indicators to measure sales performance, identify process failures and guide improvement requirements. Implement processes and training in order to drive cross functional resource effectiveness.
  • Develop and sustain an advanced knowledge of the industry, the key market drivers and trends in order to continually adapt sales strategies. Provide new product proposals to help ensure overall product offering remains market leading and aligned with customer expectations, requirements.
  • Play a key role in the leadership team; focused on cross functional communication, providing supportive guidance on solutions, procedures and business challenges.
  • Build a strong relationship with senior marketing team to ensure marketing synergies with sales plans, targets, focusing on measurable and monitored ROI activities.
The Successful Applicant

We are open to a broad range of experience.

Key areas required are:

  • Experience in a product led business
  • Able to demonstrate experience and ability to lead customer facing internal sales teams, based both onsite and remotely; with proven track record of growing sales in a multi-channel consumer product company.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, astute in pricing, promotion and margin analysis, with insight across the marketing/sales/e-commerce spectrum.
  • Preferred experience in growing ecommerce sales, with broad understanding of value drivers, and growth economics.
  • Advanced skills in negotiation and customer relationship development.
  • Excellent data analyst skills, in order to adapt commercial plans to meet sales targets.
  • First class communicator, able to articulate direction and plans across all levels.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with integrity and ambition.
What's on Offer

Up to £65,000, 20k OTE + benefits.

You must be commutable to the South Yorkshire office 3/4 days a week.
