Our client is looking for a Head of Sales & Marketing

They are Europe’s foremost transport publisher, producing market-leading magazines within all sectors of aviation, rail, bus, and modelling.



The role of Head of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for creating and leading the marketing strategy across all their brands to develop and execute sales & marketing strategies and plans.

This includes investigating customer outreach and marketplaces globally, clearly defining the offering to the customer in each of the targeted marketplaces, putting in place a strategic plan to develop that marketplace and executing the delivery to the customer. Strategy and marketing plans should include both traditional and digital commercial opportunities.

The role will ensure the growth goals of the business are met in all areas.





Reporting directly to the Group CEO, will be responsible for:

• Developing strategies, per brand with a clear plan and timeline in agreement with the Group CEO and other senior managers and putting in place an execution plan.

• Developing plans to help establish our brand, allocating resources to different projects and setting short-term and long-term department goals.

• Managing the subscriptions acquisition and renewal process across all print and digital brands.

• Leading and managing the junior members of the team to succeed in their regular marketing campaign duties as well as the execution of elements of the campaigns yourself.

• Ensuring deadlines are in place and met consistently for all activities

• Recognising trends, analysing data, and actively developing customers and conversions to maximise revenues.

• Conducting research on marketing strategy, customer profiles and market share to fully understand each brand position in the marketplace and from that develop and improve brand positioning.

• Working closely with the in-house digital staff to develop a strong social media and web-based strategy which supports and enhances each brand as a media product.

• Agreeing commercial objectives and business cases to support all marketing initiatives and take P&L responsibility for the department.

• Scoping the audience development requirements necessary to grow and optimize global reach of all products and services via traditional and digital channels; create a customer experience that leads to conversion.

• Ensuring analytics and KPIs are monitored constantly and fed back to the business to maximise opportunities and track progress of digital transformation

You will be responsible for various quantifiable measures in place to evaluate success or performance in the role such as:

• Demonstrating consistent growth in audience and commercial activities.

• Regularly meeting with all brand teams to ensure that marketing is fully embedded in the culture of each brand.

• Attendance at various events to promote the Company and specific brand.

• Defined increase in outreach into new marketplaces by developing strategies and campaigns to build customer base.

Requirements and skills

• Work experience as Head of Marketing/Senior Marketing Manager, preferably within our industry

• Experience running successful marketing campaigns

• Solid knowledge of web analytics and Google Adwords

• Experience with CRM software

• Leadership skills with the ability to set and prioritize goals

• Analytical mind
