Job Description
As Head of Spectrum Engineering & Licensing you will be leading on all UK spectrum engineering and licensing activities, and forging new and exciting spectrum policies, at both national and international levels, to ensure the success of our future missions.
As Head of Spectrum Engineering & Licensing you will be you will lead on all aspects of spectrum policy, licensing and management, and report to the Director of Government Affairs and Space Policy
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include
- Spectrum policy scoping and implementation to support our UK space projects.
- Satellite frequency filings and frequency coordination
- Undertaking technical studies (including via computer simulation) of radio frequency interference, frequency capability, link budgets and interference analysis
- Engage with Ofcom, DCMS, ESA, EC, EU bodies etc
- Assist with coordinating documentation for relevant UK space licences for future missions
- Assist with the engagement with relevant government bodies
Experience required
- Have MSc/BSC or equivalent in engineering, physics or mathematics or another relevant subject
- Have considerable satellite communications systems and/or satellite systems engineering
- Have considerable experience in space system licensing including in the UK.
- Have considerable experience in spectrum management for space systems including in the UK
- in the In-Orbit-Service (IOS) sector in a space policy or regulatory role.
- Be Fluent in English, both written and spoken with additional European language(s) useful
