Job Description

Job Title: Head of Supply Chain Reports to: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) SUMMARY As the Head of Supply Chain, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimising the end-to-end supply  chain operations within our manufacturing environment. This leadership position requires a deep  understanding of procurement, inventory control, and goods inwards processes, requiring both a hands  on and strategic approach. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of materials, developing  our supplier base, minimising costs, and maintaining high-quality standards in support of our  manufacturing operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Procurement and Stores Team Management: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Procurement and Stores team members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and  continuous improvement. Conduct performance and development reviews, identify training needs, and support  professional development opportunities for team members. Supply Chain Strategy: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to enhance collaboration and  ensure reliability. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions and sole s ource in the supply chain. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed. Procurement: Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with business  objectives. Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong vendor relationships. Monitor market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost  savings and process improvements. Inventory Management: Design and execute effective inventory control policies to optimise stock levels and ensure  timely availability of materials. Implement inventory forecasting models to prevent stockouts and excess inventory. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline production schedules and minimise lead  times. Oversee the efficient receipt and inspection of incoming materials and components. Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and  company specifications. Work closely with quality assurance teams to address any discrepancies or non-conformities in  received goods. QUALIFICATIONS Professional Supply Chain Management Qualification Degree educated or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. EXPERIENCE Proven experience in Strategic Supply Chain/Procurement Leadership. Experience required of working with an ERP system, specifically MRP. Experience in a similar global industry role (ideal but not essential) PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and team-management skills, with strong  communication skills. They will be proactive, analytical, result orientated and willing to take on new  challenges. They will also have the ability to build good working relationships with people at all levels  internally and externally, learn quickly and a natural problem solver. ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS Good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organisational skills and capable of working to tight deadlines. WORK ENVIRONMENT Whilst hybrid working is operational within this role with a mix of office and remote working, the role is  predominately office based to support on-site manufacturing.
