Head of Talent Development, Up to £80,000 + Benefits, 6 Month FTC, Fully Remote Working, ASAP Start

Head of Talent Development Overview:

Reporting the the Chief Talent Officer and being offered with full remote working, the Head of Talent Development role requires and individual who can come in and set up key elements of a Talent Development framework and offering. The incumbent needs to be both strategic and operational, playing an influential role in the HR Leadership Team and able to roll-up-their-sleeves and deliver.

The Head of Talent Development will ensure that the Talent strategy meets the Company objectives and drives and embeds the culture (in turn driving overall employee engagement). The Head of Talent Development will be responsible for developing and setting up the Talent Development framework and in-house programmes, and ensure the business is delivering all talent, development, and learning requirements. As such, the successful individual will be able to work independently, focusing on specific Portfolio requirements and implementing the best practices for the businesses.

The incumbent will have strong organisational and project management skills, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, as well as being forward-thinking, being proactive in making recommendations and investing ahead of the business growth curve to ensure our leaders and people are always developed and supported in the best ways. You will also have a strong data focus and integrate workforce analytics with development and learning plans.

During this contract, the role will be responsible for leading and developing the Talent Development Lead/Specialist, with a particular focus on creating and managing career pathway frameworks, competency models, and job families.

Duties:

* Ensure a clear go-forward strategy that not only promotes a diverse and inclusive high-performing workforce and top talent pool but takes into account the anticipated scalability across the Portfolio with a timeline to actively address the upcoming business needs, including what tools, systems, and resources may be required and when. Ensure that all activities coming out of the Talent Development function are strategically aligned and have a clear purpose and add value to our businesses.

* Develop, implement, and lead the career pathway framework (including a leadership and a technical framework), competency models, and job families to support a high-performance culture and retain key talent. Working with the Head of Reward and Projects, ensure our career pathway framework and job families are mapped to and aligned with our compensation philosophy.

* Aligned with achieving business goals, developing, and managing internal talent, and resulting in the creation of an internal bench of top talent, you will design, develop, implement, and lead effective programmes and methodologies for:

o Succession planning

o Skill and competency identification/assessment

o Talent review process

o IDP/EDPs o Mentoring

o Coaching

o Technical skills development programmes

o HiPo development programmes

o Leadership development programmes for all levels (future talent, new leader, middle management, senior leaders, exec leaders, GMs, and Group Leaders)

o Retention

o Promotion

o All other learning and capability development programmes.

* Define the learning and development needs of the organisation and create/build innovative, inclusive, effective, and attractive in-house programmes to meet the needs. Ensure that the talent management and performance management initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness, including cost effectiveness. Wherever possible, build and deliver our own internal programmes and minimise the use of external vendors.

Ideal Background Needed:

Extensive, sound global knowledge of talent development, with a proven track record of success within this field, including how to leverage technology to achieve this.

* Previous experience working in Software/SaaS and/or Professional Services industry highly desirable.

* Working in a complex, matrix environment highly desirable. *

Previous experience of leading, developing and implementing talent management initiatives.

* Experience in managing effective future talent programmes.

* Knowledge of best practices selection and retention methodology for future talent programmes.

* Understanding of learning and development methodology and interventions. * Familiarity with HR policies and relevant employment law issues.

* Excellent time management and organisational skills.

* Influencing and negotiation skills including developing effective relationships with the various executive stakeholders and leadership teams.

* Knowledge of GDPR ensuring compliance with tracking of development programmes.

* Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail, as well as being methodical, highly numerate, analytical, and with good time management.

* Sound business acumen and able to understand commercial drivers.

* Strong leadership and communication skills, highly collaborative, and great at establishing partnering relationships with the ability to build consensus across a wide range of stakeholders. Including facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills
