We are excited to be looking for a Head of Tax working in our Group Head office at Tubney Woods, Oxfordshire. This is a newly created role that will offer an exciting and stimulating opportunity for anyone interested in a mix of both operational and strategic work in a growing business.

You will be working closely with the group finance team, specifically the Group Financial Controller and CFO.

Some of the key areas will be:

  • Determination and delivery of the Group’s tax strategy, including tax structuring and tax planning around major transactions where appropriate.
  • Oversight and management of control frameworks for all forms of taxation, including corporation tax, VAT, PAYE and employer’s NIC (and overseas equivalents).
  • Primary point of contact between the Group and Tax Authorities.
  • Monitor and supervise compliance activities, filings, payments, etc.
  • Liaise with Group Financial Controller for appropriate tax accounting.
  • Assist in analysing Tax implications of M&A activity
  • Support and integrate any new finance function following acquisition of new businesses
  • Liaise with financial decision support managers in the other OI businesses and at Group to gain the benefits of best practices
  • Lead, develop and manage the Group’s Tax team in the UK and overseas.
  • Maintain professional awareness of legislation and the regulatory requirements applying to the business

This role would suit a fully qualified candidate within ACA, CIMA or CTA.

This role is a hybrid role with the main location being Tubney Woods. We work 8.00 until 4.30 Monday to Thursday and finish at 1.00 on a Friday so you can start your weekend early. We typically work three days per week in the office so it is important that you are able to get to our Oxfordshire location.
