Due to an internal promotion my client is currently recruiting for the Head of Technical & Quality to work for a leading foundry, any experience of Casting or the Automotive industry would be an advantage.

Skills Required
You will be degree educated ideally in metallurgy or hold a related engineering qualification or qualified by experience with good knowledge of grey iron metallurgy.
Description
You will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of technical and quality problem solving activities within the company whilst investigating internal and external quality issues and implementing the required corrective/preventative measures.
You will work closely with the engineering, quality and manufacturing team, liaise with customer, have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, written and spoken.
Duties
You will manage and co-ordinate the technical and quality department, manage problem solving activities such as activities being documented using relevant internal systems, e.g. corrective action reporting (C.A.R.), process trials record, continuous improvement and process change log etc
Investigate internal and external quality problems and implementation of corrective actions and preventative measures
Manage process controls to optimise product quality and to minimise costs, as well as internal and external reject levels
Generation and development of internal technical specifications
Give technical support & direction of the metallurgists and electric melting department
As a member of the corporate executive team, you will contribute to the company vision, mission, and business plan
Generate requisite requests for capital expenditure
Drive the companies R&D initiative especially around metallurgical developments in line with Euro7 Legislation
Analyse and manage budgeted cost centres and of external and internal reject levels to achieve budgets
