The Role
We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced head nurse to join the team here at Adams. Duties include but are not limited to, managing all aspects of the nursing team, general nursing duties, maintaining practice standards, rota, stock control and managing orders, and equipment servicing. You will also play a part in helping and supporting the management team to ensure the smooth running of the Practice. The ideal candidate will have clinical coach experience or a keen interest in this role.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours across 5 days per week. You will cover 1:3 Saturday mornings with time off in lieu during the week for these hours.
No out-of-hours or bank holidays.
The salary for this role is up to £32,000 depending on experience.
About Us
At Adams Vets, we have a large team working across our two clinics, Fazakerley and Wavertree. Our Fazakerly Clinic is situated in North Liverpool with excellent transport links to the surrounding area and free parking on site. Our Wavertree clinic is situated in South Liverpool near lots of lovely restaurants, cafes, and bars (perfect for a night out or easy access to Liverpool’s town centre). We have all the usual toys including digital radiography, ultrasonography, tonometry, a full laboratory, dedicated inpatient wards, operating theatres, and consulting rooms. The successful candidate will lead the nursing team across the two sites.
About the Team and Culture
We are a close-knit team that prides itself on delivering excellent patient care. Between our 2 clinics, we have 4 FTE Veterinary Surgeons with experience ranging from 2 years to over 34 years in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. They are supported by 3 fantastic Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 2 Veterinary Care Assistants and 4 Receptionists. We often have visiting specialists who perform cardiac workups, ultrasonography, and soft tissue surgeries.
We have General Practice accreditation with RCVS Practice Standards and wish to become ISFM Cat Friendly accredited in the near future. We as a group have a passion for making our patients’ visits as positive and free from stress as possible. We have 4 consulting rooms including a dedicated nurse’s room across the sites.
We work closely with local rescue centres and hold team events to raise money for charity. Most recently, we walked 1 million steps in 7 days to raise money for Vet Life!
Applicant Requirements
Previous experience in the role is desired although finding the perfect fit for our team is more important to us than experience. Must be RCVS registered. A full, clean driver’s license is preferred as there will be travel between sites.
