Your newpany You will be working with an established national architectural organisation that has an outstanding reputation for work in the retial sector. Other client sectors include education, leisure, healthcare facilities and more. Your new role An opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and qualified construction Health and Safety Advisor to undertake the following duties and responsibilities: Undertaking site H&S reviews, inspections and audits and producing reports for clients. Providing health and safety advice and support to client teams, advising clients of their CDM duties and assisting with development of CDM strategy for projects. Visiting project sites prior to construction to carry out initial risk appraisals and during construction to review arrangements (as required). Preparing, co-ordinating and distributing relevant pre-construction Health & Safety Information to other design & project team members, usingpany format where required. Involvement in design appraisal and design hazard risk assessments. The level of involvement and responsibility in undertaking Principal Designer duties will bemensurate with experience and, though it will be developed, is not the initial focus of this position. What you'll need to succeed This is a new position, and the ideal candidate will receive training and instruction and personnel development. Initially, we expect candidates to have the following or working towards: 3 years previous experience as a Health and Safety professional in the construction industry. An understanding of the CDM Regulations 2015 and associated legislation is essential. NEBOSH Diploma and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent. A relevant design or construction qualification is preferred. Previous experience of working on retail fit-out, new build projects is preferred. An ambitious, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual able to work independently and unsupervised with good time management skills. Good IT skills, being apetent and experienced user of general Microsoft Office software (Safety Culture familiarity is also beneficial). Good organisational, management and team-working skills with the ability to prioritise workload. A full clean UK driving licence is essential for this position as it requires regular travel.
