Join an industry-leading main contractor based in Corby, specializing in the delivery of construction and steel frame schemes. With a reputation for excellence, we are currently embarking on a landmark project valued between £40,000,000 - £80,000,000. To ensure the safety and success of this project, we are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor with a background in main contracting within the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage health and safety policies and procedures on-site in accordance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess risks, taking proactive measures to mitigate potential accidents or incidents.
- Provide advice and guidance to project teams on health and safety matters, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that health and safety standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and industry trends, incorporating new developments into our health and safety management systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor within the construction industry, preferably with a main contracting background.
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Strong understanding of construction health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach to health and safety management.
