Job Description

I am partnering with a global Automotive company based in Rugby who are are seeking a proactive and dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator who ideally has certifications in IOSH and NEBOSH to ensure that their various sites and depots operate under the safest conditions, aligning with all health and safety regulations and best practices. We are looking for someone who has the ability to influence , build relationships and ensure projects are being managed , the ideal background would be distribution , warehousing and automotive and have managed multisite .

The role will be based from my clients Rugby Distribution centre and will involve travel to sites across the midlands and into Scotland .


**Key Responsibilities:**

  1. Risk Assessment: Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments throughout the warehouse to identify potential hazards.
  2. Safety Training: Organise and lead health and safety training sessions for all employees, ensuring compliance with established safety protocols.
  3. Policy Development: Draft, review, and update health and safety policies and procedures to maintain alignment with local, state, and national regulations.
  4. Incident Management: Record and investigate any safety incidents or breaches, ensuring corrective measures are taken promptly.
  5. Equipment Inspection Regularly check all warehouse equipment and machinery to ensure they meet safety standards.
  6. Reporting: Prepare monthly safety performance reports and present to senior management.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of the latest industry safety standards and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
  8. Safety Culture: Promote and in still a proactive safety culture where every employee takes ownership of their own and their colleagues' safety.
  9. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting drills as necessary.
  10. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external parties such as local authorities, insurance companies, and safety consultants.


Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Certified in both IOSH and NEBOSH.
  2. Previous experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a warehouse or distribution centre environment.
  3. Knowledge of warehouse operations and related safety concerns.
  4. Proficient in using safety management software and tools.
