Health and Safety Manager Required - Tier 1 (Industrial) Main Contractor - £90,000 Basic + Package
Our client is a multidisciplinary main contractor that excels in the delivery of construction projects on a national scale. Formed in 1981, they are privately owned and this year will turn over in excess of £1 billion for a growing list of blue chip clients. The Role
Reporting directly into the Health and Safety Director the role holder will be responsible for managing 1 - 2 major projects at a time within the Business and will work closely with the Senior Management team to ensure that the business is compliant in all aspects of SHEQ. The role holder will have the autonomy to recruit team members to help manage the workload.
Brief duties include
- Act as point of contact for all Health and Safety related issues within your designated construction sites.
- To develop a strategy for improving the Health and Safety culture within the business.
- To develop and enforce Health and Safety Policies and Procedures that adhere to government legislation requirements and expectations of the business.
- Provide advice and training to the operational workforce in Health and Safety regulations when appropriate.
- Develop Management Systems where appropriate.
- Maintain effective working relationships with the board of directors and prepare KPI’s highlighting monthly/ quarterly performance.
The role holder will be able to work towards a potential role of Head of Health and Safety with the potential to have the chance to build a team around them in the coming years.
