Express Recruitment are proud to be representing one of the East Midlands' fastest growing firms, who are leaders in their field. Due to continued success and major expansion plans, our client is seeking to recruit a highly competent Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to take ownership of their HSE department and manage their growing business operations.

In return, our client is offering a generous remuneration package, including a leading salary of up to c£58,000, plus sick pay, non-contractual bonus and pension scheme. In addition, you will gain excellent opportunities to develop your skill set and progress within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform internal audits, risk assessments and environmental inspections including routine inspections of fire alarms and systems.
  • Implement continuous improvement methods within the company’s maintenance and batch processing.
  • Monitor all forms of onsite risk control by conducting internal Health and Safety audits and Environmental risk inspections.
  • Liaise with auditors, suppliers, operations, transport, sales and engineering departments in order to improve and maintain health and safety standards.
  • Conduct toolbox talks with various departments in order to raise awareness and ensure staff understand latest company legislation.
  • Take senior responsibility of the company’s management systems by liaising with the company’s preferred partner supplier and acting as the first point of contact.
  • Maintain an accurate record of the company’s annual accident report statistics.
  • Travel to various sites to meet with suppliers and fellow business representatives.
  • Communicate daily with the Health and Safety team and delegating tasks and scheduling workloads.
  • Undertake any training necessary in order to adhere to the company’s continuous development of Health and Safety compliance.

Skills & Experience

  • Full NEBOSH certificate or Diploma.
  • Good working knowledge of ISO:9001, ISO:14001 & OSHAS:18001.
  • Previous experience within heavy goods manufacturing or engineering would be desirable.
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with a diverse range of people on all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence.
