Job summary We are looking for an Experienced Health Care Assistant/Phlebotomist tojoin our friendly team at The Westbank Practice.Approx hours Monday, Wednesday, and FridaysSalary dependant on experience.We are looking for an experienced HCA/Phlebotomist who is wellorganised, has good administration skills and competent IT (InformationTechnology) knowledge. Main duties of the job To support the practice nursing team in the deliveryof nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, deliveringcare within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The healthcareassistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment,preventative care, health promotion and patient education. About us The Westbank Practice is a busy growing practice providing care and support for approximately 9,000 patients across our Exminster and Starcross surgeries. We are a teaching practice with Registrars, F2s and Medical Students on rotation.Our clinical team consists of four GP partners, four salaried GPs, one Paramedic, four Practice Nurses, two health care assistants and one phlebotomist.Beautifully located on the outskirts of Exeter, we are looking for a dynamic HCA to join our team and help meet the needs of our growing population. Person Specification Skills Essential - Excellent communication skills (written and oral) - Strong IT skills - Clear, polite telephone manner - Effective time management (Planning & Organising) - Ability to work as a team member and autonomously - Good interpersonal skills - Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure Desirable - Competent in the use of Office and Outlook - System one Clinical Knowledge & Skills Essential - Venepuncture - New patient medicals inc. Height, weight, BP, Pulse - Ability to record accurate clinical notes Desirable - Wound Care / Removal of sutures & staples - ECGs - Chaperone procedure Qualifications Essential - Healthcare qualification (level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level - Phlebotomy certification Desirable - Ear syringing certification Experience Essential - Experience of working in a primary care environment - Experience of working with the general public - Experience of working in a healthcare setting
