As the Home Manager of The Elms (48 beds) you will be responsible for all operational and financial aspects of the home, ensuring the home is compliant with the relevant legislation and standards through continual monitoring and practical support. If you are a registered nurse with a valid NMC pin this would be highly desirable.


We are seeking someone who can lead and inspire our dedicated staff team, to ensure we continue to provide outstanding, truly personalised care to our residents. You'll have previous experience as a Home or General Manager in a similar sized setting, and must be able to demonstrate good leadership qualities, have a hands-on approach to care, be forward thinking and have a good knowledge of the care standards legislation including Fundamental Standards.


We are looking for someone who has either completed, or would be willing to undertake, their NVQ/Diploma level 5 in Leadership and Management.


Essential:


  • Registered Nurse with active PIN registration – highly desired
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. NVQ/RMA/Diploma minimum level 5).
  • Previous management experience within a nursing home in a similar sized environment 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including robust IT skills
  • Robust knowledge of NMC code of Conduct and standards
  • Good knowledge of Fundamental Standards and the Care Act
  • In-depth understanding of the principles of Person-centred care and leading teams to focus on providing high quality care, promoting independence and enablement
  • Proven ability to lead, supervise and manage a large team of staff, inspiring and motivating others
  • Evidence that knowledge and skills are up to date and in line with current professional development
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with residents, families, stakeholders and other relevant bodies
  • Care giving to residents with nursing needs and those who live with Dementia
  • A flexible approach to working hours
