Job Description

Our client is a reputable international law firm considered one of the largest firm’s in the world, they are now looking for a motivated and resilient HR Business Partner to join their fast-paced team in their London/Glasgow/Edinburgh offices on a 12 month fixed term contractual basis. This role can also offer remote working and the firm will also consider someone on a four day a week basis.

The main responsibilities for the HR Business Partner will be to work closely with the Lead HRBP and the wider UK HR Business Partnering team and in partnership with the business to define and deliver strategic people solutions to suit business priorities. The role will be responsible for two fee-earning Divisions in the UK, working alongside the Lead HRBP.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinating the delivery of a high-quality HR advisory service to allocated practice groups, working closely with Divisional Leaders, Practice Group Leads, Office Heads and Practice Managers
  • Providing guidance, coaching and commercial advice on people issues to enable motivated and effective management of our people and ensure that policies are adhered to, and processes followed
  • Sharing knowledge, expertise, and market insights to enable the delivery of business focused HR
  • Being responsible for delivery of strategic initiatives as necessary e.g., annual engagement survey process
  • Working with the Lead HRBP(s) and Head of Reward to deliver performance and annual salary review/bonus processes to ensure timely launch, delivery and engagement from all stakeholders
  • Working with ER Manager as necessary on formal cases or restructuring/change programmes. 
  • Advising managers on performance management issues and ensure these are coordinated effectively
  • Implementing Talent Management plan. Working to identify high potential professionals and create development and succession plans.
     

The HR Business Partner will have previous HR experience of working in a business partnering capacity within an HR team, CIPD qualification is preferred. Along with solid knowledge of general employment law and practical handling of employee relations issues. The ability to provide sound HR advice to the business and strong analytical and numerical skills will be essential. The right candidate will have proven influencing and negotiating skills especially dealing with senior stakeholders, while organising and prioritising own workload. The HR Business Partner will be flexible, commercial, possess excellent communication skills and be skilled at providing pragmatic and commercial advice
