Overview Location - Peterborough (with travel to other sites/offices as requiredHours - 37 hours per week We are looking for a HR Business Partner to partner with business leaders and managers, providing HR expertise, a people focused strategy, solutions and direction. You will be responsible for ensuring staff wellness, compliance of employment law and associated railway regulations across your client group area, predicting staff needs, enhancing workforce retention, managing termination processes, developing and coaching line managers, talent management and assessing resourcing risks in the area. You will have a solid background in a HR generalist role, with ability to influence managers working at a high level and in a high-pressure environment. You’ll have the ability to juggle priorities and deal with fast-moving situations and issues and be flexible with travel to your client group sites within the UK. Responsibilities Partnering with your client group Leaders, implement and deliver the HR strategy plan to approx. 200-400 staff. This plan includes developing and retaining talent, succession planning and change management in order to support the delivery of business growth and drive an engaged and high performance cultureConduct regular meetings with respective business unit acting as the localised change agent and a strategic partner. Meet key stakeholders to discuss and seek solutions to their people challenges. Planning and forecasting within your areas. Build and maintain relationships with client groups, becoming their trusted partner on all people related matters ensuring issues are identified, reported and resolved.Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with other members of the HR team to develop solutions and policies. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues including investigations, TUPE, redundancy, settlements and disputes. Role model and coach managers on fair culture principles and EL practices throughout ER cases. Coach Managers to become more effective and confident in people related management practices. Instruct them to use self serve tools and HR business systemsED&I focused to ensure the client groups perform in line with our ED&I targets and an inclusive culture is maintained/enhanced in your area. Advise and challenge, where appropriate, business leaders on short and medium term HR issues.Oversee Apprenticeship and trainee OM development plans in areas ensuring new talent is emerging and being retained. Use Training Needs Analysis framework to address desired skills and competencies for all roles and create development plans for key roles to address any gaps in a timely fashion. Work with the wider HR function including the Talent Acquisition team to provide the best solutions to the business to meet the resourcing needs . Help evaluate future resourcing needs based on knowledge and experience of the client group. Support Operational Managers in local level union mattersWork with other HR Business Partners to ensure a consistent approach is applied to people matters across the business, ensuring you meet regularly to share learnings and best practice.Work with the HR Manager to manage specialist projects and initiatives. Actively measure and monitor existing policies and procedures within business area. Supports wellness initiatives identified in the HR strategy, ensuring they are deployed across the client group. Provides innovative solutions to support the wellbeing of people across the business and proactively manages absence within the region, looking at longer term risks as well as managing reactional case-work. Helps manager succeed- go into the meeting with actionable plans that are KPI-driven. Qualifications Demonstrate strong business /commercial approach and understanding of business needs and translate these into action. Proven experience of working in partnership and building strong working relationships with senior managers in order to improve people managementPassionate about helping others and making a positive difference to peoples working livesER experience including grievance, disciplinary, investigation and capability handlingCoaching and influencing experienceUnderstand how to work with the business to identify, develop and retain talentExcellent technical knowledge – CIPD qualified or working towards Demonstrated strong writing skills including investigation meetings, disciplinary outcome letters with great attention to detail Organisational change programmes e.g. TUPE, redundancy, re organisaitionsThe experience and credibility to work effectively with senior managers Excellent knowledge of UK Employment Law. Interest in rail and logistics would be desirableProficiency with Digital Tools.Ability to Leverage Artificial IntelligenceProject Management Skills desirable Experience of working in a fast paced HR environment, working under pressure and to tight deadlinesEffective in Addressing Change and transformation. Ability to Identify and Develop Leaders.Ability to leverage technology to increase efficiency and drive business resultsAttain a Strengthscope practitioner certificate.
