HR Business Partner - Technology (12 month fixed term contract)

We have a great opportunity for a highly motivated and results focused HR Business Partner for our Technology function. 

You’ll act as the trusted advisor for the CIO and the leadership team, be the first point of contact for the technology community and act as the HR lead for all technology projects and business responsibilities, ensure strategic partnership is gained from the business to achieve HR initiatives for Gallagher continued success and growth.

Your role:

  • Business Change - Support the Divisional HR Director and the Chief Information Officer with the delivery of the Technology Job Architecture project and updating the Global technology Job book and be responsible for reviewing and approving all non-standard documentation and ultimately accountable for successful deployment of all business change programmes
  • Reporting & Analytics - Working with technology leads understand, analyse and interpret people data to drive business benefit and
  • Employee Relations - Accountable for the advice and guidance to the business on complex Employee Relations cases, seeking advice and guidance from the Employee Relations team as appropriate
  • Performance - Embedding a performance culture and consequence management approach, analysing data and trends to identify high & low performance and take appropriate action
  • Reward - To work with the Divisional HR Director and Business Unit heads to plan and implement reward strategies for individuals and teams, promoting Total reward philosophy in order to improve engagement and retention
  • Culture & Engagement - Embed the ‘Gallagher Way’ across senior leadership teams, driving engagement actions and plans at local levels to embed and foster an inclusive culture
  • Strategy & Design - Lead on Workforce Planning, culture change, organisation design and the people planning process for BU’s and develop M&A 1-90 day integration plans with Head of ER
  • Leadership - Support senior hiring as required and the delivery of succession planning and career development in order to embed talent approach
  • Team Working - Support Senior HR Advisors in overcoming any issues or barriers in the completion of their responsibilities and represent the HR function in cross functional, cross divisional programmes

Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered MCIPD or commitment to working towards
  • A background in HR within the technology industry or financial services and ideally with a good knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd’s and Industry)
  • Track record of contributing to the management of change successfully and experience of leading on successful restructuring programmes
  • Substantial HR experience (operational and strategic) in a commercial environment
  • Proven ability to develop a good understanding of business issues and how to identify and deliver HR interventions and solutions to meet business needs
  • Experience of dealing with complex relationships using coaching/feedback techniques
  • Excellent client focus, including the ability to manage potentially contentious interactions with varying negotiation strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels
  • Problem-solving mind-set with the ability to develop creative approaches and solutions 
  • MS office proficiency
  • Eligible to work in the UK
