We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and proactive Human Resources Assistant to join our team at The Lost Estate.


We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in delivering streamlined and efficient organisational HR support. As Human Resources Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our people and culture strategy, helping to ensure that we are supporting our diverse team from initial interview through to training, development and progression. You’ll work closely alongside Head of People as well as other members of the head office team supporting the overall department function.


You will have excellent skills in the management of processes and systems, and be able to apply your experience and knowledge creatively to support TLE’s overall HR strategy. Key duties and responsibilities


  • HR Administration: Provide administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including pre-employment checks, contract administration, payroll processes, and handling leavers
  • Recruitment: Ownership of the recruitment process, managing applications and initial candidate vetting
  • Support People Projects: Assist with HR projects and initiatives as required
  • Support the Head of People in the development of the overall People and Culture strategy
  • Management of Fourth Hospitality, TLE’s HR software
  • Planning and delivery of team building and social events
  • Working with the Head of People to create and implement colleague engagement initiatives
  • Training and development: supporting the development and execution of training and development plans at all levels of the organisation
  • Developing and maintaining our professional networks and database of contacts to support our efforts to recruit the best possible candidates
  • Support line managers to ensure all people processes are managed and actioned in accordance with relevant policy / process timescales
  • Maintain the highest level of data integrity by handling all colleague and company information with sensitivity and absolute confidentiality and ensure the adherence of GDPR regulations


Required skill and experience

  • Minimum of 2 years working in a similar role previously
  • Qualified to CIPD level 3 (desirable)
  • Previous experience with Fourth or other HR software
  • Data entry and processing skills, specifically in Google Sheets
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Adaptable to change and possess a willingness to embrace innovative ideas and new processes
  • Confidentiality and discretion: Handle sensitive information responsibly.


  • Full-Time Fixed Term Position commencing ASAP, 6 month fixed term
  • Salary: £26,000-£28,000
  • Hours: Permanent, 40 hours per week
  • Holidays: 30 days including bank holidays, plus a day for your birthday
