Pure Pet Food is an exciting and rapidly expanding scaling business, dedicated to providing the best nutrition for dogs. The Advocate Group is exclusively leading the search for a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to join the team and play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and success of the business, with particular emphasis on supporting operations and factory teams.


Role Overview:

As the standalone HR Manager for the office and factory, you will have the unique opportunity to build and shape the HR function from the ground up. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, covering the full spectrum of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and employee development. You will also play a key role in supporting the strategic growth initiatives of the business, ensuring that the team remains engaged, motivated, and empowered to drive the company mission forward.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To set up and manage a comprehensive HR service for the Company across all aspects of the employee life cycle.
  • To provide expert HR advice and support to Line Managers and team members with people related processes, policies, and compliance.
  • To devise and implement HR strategies and policies aligned with the overall vision for the future growth of the business.
  • To support the Leadership Team in the recruitment of new team members to match the growth of the business.
  • To lead on engagement initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive working environment and culture.
  • To provide accurate people related data and reporting including a proactive approach to absence management and attrition. Effectively monitor any trends that may require intervention.


Your Profile:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or hold 5+ years equivalent professional experience and have a Level 3 qualification in any subject.
  • Experience operating in a stand-alone role is essential. Previous experience within a SME environment is desirable.
  • Proven HR generalist experience at both a strategic and operational level across a broad range of functions – Finance, IT, Operations, Marketing and Customer Care.
  • Previous experience in recruitment best practice is desirable.
  • A thorough, up-to-date knowledge of employment law is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to influence effectively across all levels.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills. Ability to apply a common-sense, commercial approach to problem-solving.
