Job Description

Our client is an established Oil trading company, with physical assets across Europe. They actively source, refine, market and trade Crude Oil and Oil products, chemicals, and associated financial derivatives.


Reporting directly to the Chief HR Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the operational and strategic HR agenda for the Group Head Office in London.


The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing HR strategies,

policies, and initiatives and promoting employee engagement, development, and retention.


RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Anticipating issues and needs within the business and addressing these effectively.
  • Building and maintaining influential relationships with senior leaders and managers, working closely with them to develop solutions to all HR related matters.
  • Acting as a coach and mentor to leadership, with specific regard to managing the people aspects of their roles.
  • Manage any ER cases.
  • Anticipating critical HR related problems and issues and apply expert knowledge of HR programs, policies, and practices to resolution.
  • Resource planning/recruitment for all London based roles.
  • Ensuring compliance with existing legislation and tracking new legislation.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of payroll and benefits.
  • Proactive liaison with HR Business Partners in other areas of the business.
  • Responsible for maintenance and Integrity of HR data.
  • Support the annual reward process.


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:


  • A minimum of 10 years of HR generalist experience, gained in an Oil/Energy refining/trading environment.
  • A pro-active, can-do attitude
  • Broad knowledge and experience of HR best practice in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, payroll, reward, policy/procedure development and interpretation.
  • Excellent knowledge of current and potential future employment law.
  • Experience managing teams with demonstrable mentoring skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • A reputation for building strong working relationships at all levels in the organisation.
  • A track record of working independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
