WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Human Resources Manager - UK & Europe who will manage employee relations cases for our office locations, retail stores and counters across the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Netherlands.

This is a hybrid role based out of our London office.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Work with the Human Resources Director on escalated matters; Investigate employee grievances as well as cases on discrimination, harassment, and other employee relations allegations in conjunction with Human Resources Director as needed
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team on the initiatives of creating local policies/procedures (Employee handbooks) and working with legal locally to create compliant employment agreements and various initiatives as assigned
  • Ensure DECIEM's policies are implemented in accordance with the company's vision, mission, and strategies as well as local labour laws
  • Provide consulting support in areas of change management, teambuilding, conflict resolution, performance management, progressive discipline, talent management, talent acquisition and employee development
  • Manage employee disciplinary actions and terminations as well as partner with your manager and legal counsel when needed to assess and mitigate potential risk and exposure.
  • Work with the Human Resources Director and team on rolling out key human resources transformation projects such as new process implementations, policies/procedures, etc.
  • Create positive employee relations by executing on human resources strategy and addressing performance management and employee issues
  • Partner with people managers on the performance management process including education in goal setting, setting expectations, and measuring and maintaining accountability
  • Draft and issue employee documentation such as change of term letters
  • Support with the sustainability and social impact team and diversity, equity & inclusion team regularly to incorporate our approach into aspects of work

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • At least 5+ years experience in a similar HR role. Ideally a minimum CIPD Level 5 or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of local labour laws and ability to interpret, articulate and apply related legislation
  • Excellent follow up skills and ability to build solid collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll have strong leadership skills to coach and mentor employees as well as counsel managers at all levels
  • Ability to handle conflict in a calm and professional manner as well as a strong problem solver and negotiator with the ability to resolve complex employee relation cases
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines
  • A change management champion who can successfully manage Human Resources transformations as well as employee resistance to change
