The Hydraulic Engineer is responsible for coordinating project elements such as engineering design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and documentation to ensure the customer project remains on time and within budget in order to meet the requirements of the customer’s needs.
The role requires a good understanding of hydraulic systems and is hands on with activities covering in-house set-up, testing, calibration, and fault finding as well as travelling to perform on site set-up at the customer’s site, with repeat testing, calibration and necessary fault finding. The engineer will also provide maintenance/service support to customers as required.
The scale of each customer project may vary from sub-component to entire systems that range in operational complexity, as such this is an exciting and diverse role and would interest and excite anyone with this level of engineering background.
The engineer will be trained on in house developed operational software but should have similar experience with control systems. They will be familiar with preparations for on-site work such as site specific risk assessments and safe systems of work documentation.
The role requires good technical experience in disciplines of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical & electronic, and servo control, therefore a strong all round background and knowledge of general engineering. Knowledge of control technologies and real-time systems such as industrial automation or similar is advantageous.
