Job Description
Simmons & Hanbury have been mandated by one of the leading, Global market making, asset management and digital assets firms to find a Corporate Legal Counsel of circa 5-8PQE to act as the legal counsel and primary resource for the UK office and European region on a broad range of transactional matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on complex public M&A transactions or other corporate strategic transactions, including structuring, diligence, drafting and negotiating term sheets and definitive transaction documentation, and supporting closing transactions and post-closing integration.
- Advise and negotiate on more broad legal topics including governance, employment, counterparty engagements and wider general corporate matters.
- Support the firm on the ever changing regulatory strategies, policies, and procedures for cryptoasset activities in the UK and European region across trading, investment banking, and asset management.
Role Requirements:
- Circa 5-8PQE across corporate M&A with In-House/secondment experience particularly beneficial.
- An understanding of regulatory frameworks governing the cross-border distribution of financial products within the UK and European region.
- Strong Financial Package including long term incentive.
- Familiarity with blockchain technology, digital assets, and the cryptoasset ecosystem would also be advantageous. .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts to a diverse audience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
