Job Description

Rare opportunity for an employment and immigration lawyer to join global brand. West Mids Hybrid or 1 x per month in the office. Full time or part time (4 days).

An incredibly rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced employment and immigration lawyer to join a global brand which is seeking to appoint their first employment and immigration lawyer for a strategic role.

This role sits in the UK business of a global brand, it is a successful business which has experienced significant growth in recent years both organically and via acquisitions. As well as having over 8,000 employees in the UK, this company bolsters its operations by employing skilled professionals from across the EU and internationally.

As the company’s first dedicated employment lawyer, working as part of small talented team in the UK, you will be responsible for their overall employment and corporate immigration strategy, leading on procedure and policy, employee issues and disputes as well as dealing with the specific issues that arise in bringing in their EU professionals. You will work closely with the HR team and wider business and have a role that is both strategic and operational. It is anticipated that your role will be broadly split between employment and immigration work. Most of the employment work is non-contentious.

This represents an incredible opportunity to become an integral part of the business from day one and forge a career path within an innovative, friendly environment.

You will be extremely well supported by the General Counsel but must have the confidence to stand alone in relation to your area of expertise. For this reason, it is likely that you will be at least 5 years PQE or alternatively have pre-qualification experience within an HR or corporate immigration environment. Candidates will only be considered who have both employment and immigration experience gained in private practice or in-house.

The company offers a very competitive salary package together with a true hybrid working model. The role is West Midlands based but only requires office-based work once a month (or if you prefer to be in the office more then that can be accommodated). Full-time or Part-time (4 days a week) will be considered.
