Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

Irwin Mitchell is seeking a proactive and motivated entry-level Information Security Analyst to join our leading Information Security team. Reporting to the Head of Information Security, this role is designed for individuals who are passionate about starting a career in cybersecurity and eager to learn. The successful candidate will support maintaining our secure culture at the firm which includes initiatives like awareness training, policy compliance, business governance and risk management. In this role you will be key to the contribution of safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Irwin Mitchell’s technical and information assets from threats.

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitoring compliance with the information security policy, performing Information Assurance testing to assess and report the effectiveness of the IT and information security controls.
  • Carrying out audits of tech systems, business processes and human behaviours.
  • Serving as an internal information security consultant to the business at varying levels – from enquiries, incidents, training, or projects.
  • Developing and promoting good information security behaviours throughout the organisation, via awareness material, training sessions, process improvements, security audits and simulated testing.
  • Participating in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits, whilst working with IT to mitigate identified risks.
  • Conducting specialist research and analysis on topics to produce recommendation papers to management (e.g. new security products and technologies, new and emerging threats).
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of security standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures.
  • Identification, reporting, investigation and resolution of alleged or actual security breaches and incidents.
About You

We Are Looking For Someone

  • With good communication skills with a capacity to explain complex issues coherently both in writing and verbally.
  • With an interest in being able to analyse data or incident events and produce effective reports.
  • Who has the understanding to identify, quantify and then mitigate or resolve risks.
  • Capable to work independently and as part of a small team, providing input and turning ideas into tangible deliveries and tasks.
  • With an eagerness to learn, attention to detail and a sense of responsibility.
