IT Support Engineer (1st and 2nd Line)

Location: Swansea - Hybrid with 3 to 4 days a week in the office initially with benefits of further reductions in office time after probation

Salary: £28-32K per annum


Unify are proud to be working with an established, rapidly expanding business who operate in the Financial Services sector.


Due to continued growth, success and the evolvement of the technology stack the business are looking to strengthen their team with an additional IT Support Engineer.


This is an opportunity that offers huge scope for development and progression.


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the support sector, with a strong background in providing technical assistance and resolving IT-related issues. The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the IT infrastructure, providing technical support to end-users, and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and networks. The candidate would work closely with the IT team to achieve its goals and grow with the businesses plans.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first and second-line technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems in a timely manner, escalating more complex issues to senior staff or third-party vendors when necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patch management, and system backups.
  • Monitor system performance and security, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities or threats.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and testing of IT infrastructure upgrades and projects.
  • Document support activities, procedures, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity of operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices and procedures.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT support role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality technical assistance.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as common productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with end-users of all levels.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Exposure to Office 365 & Azure Platform.
