Job Description

The primary purpose of the IT Support Technician is primarily responsible for providing hands-on support, proactively identifying, and resolving software and hardware issues on computers and managing the repair and maintenance of more complex systems and computer problems. In addition to these technical responsibilities, the IT Support Technician is also tasked with building a strong rapport with internal customers. This involves understanding their needs, addressing their concerns promptly, and ensuring their experience with the company’s IT systems is seamless and productive.


What you will be doing

  • Providing hands-on support: Actively assisting with IT-related issues.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving issues: Anticipating and addressing software and hardware problems on computers.
  • Managing repair and maintenance: Overseeing the repair and upkeep of complex systems and computer problems.
  • Building rapport with internal customers: Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding customer needs: Gaining a deep understanding of the needs of internal customers to provide tailored IT solutions.
  • Addressing concerns promptly: Responding quickly and efficiently to any IT-related concerns raised by internal customers.
  • Ensuring seamless and productive IT experience: Making sure that the company's IT systems are running smoothly and effectively.

UK travel: Availability to travel to the Bristol office and Maidenhead data centre from time to time.

  • Locations/Travel:

Role is based in Theale (HQ) with a hybrid working arrangement (subject to need).

Additional travel to Maidenhead (data centre) and Bristol (office) will be required to conduct routine work and maintenance.


Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in a related field e.g computer science, information technology, or engineering is beneficial.

Desirable

  • Certifications in areas such as network administration or cybersecurity.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in IT support and systems maintenance.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: The ability to provide exceptional support.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in hardware, software, and networking. Familiarity with operating systems and network infrastructure.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for understanding users' needs, providing clear solutions, and building trust.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Work within tight deadlines.

  • Adaptability: The ability to anticipate and adapt to the ever-changing tech environment is highly desirable.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying current with emerging technologies and continuously updating technical knowledge is imperative.

  • Knowledge of Networks: Understanding of network hardware, protocols, and standards to set up, configure, and manage network systems.

Where you will work

We have offices in both Theale and Bristol. Our Headquarters is based in Theale where you will be located around plenty of country pubs in the area, golf courses, fishing lakes, good cycle and walking routes. Our Bristol office is modern, open plan complex located by the intersection of the M4 and M5.
